James G. Rogers established JGRA after acquiring the South Norwalk office from NYC’s Butler Rogers Baskett, in a mutual agreement with his former partners. Our growing, 18-person firm reflects Rogers’ unique vision and vast, 30-year experience in architectural design.
James G. Rogers Architects views the practice of architecture as more than a visual barometer of the times. The hallmark JGRA solution balances innovative design, natural setting, organizational context and the considerations of future generations.
We invite you to browse our portfolio and contact us for further information. Our considerable resume of institutional projects includes independent schools, community organizations, country clubs, and sports facilities. Under Rogers’ direction, the former BRB Architects South Norwalk office had numerous successful projects to their credit, including Greenwich Academy, Convent of the Sacred Heart, New Canaan YMCA, The New Canaan Country School, Tamarack Country Club, and the Stanwich Club. The New Canaan Country School’s Stevens Building achieved LEED® Silver certification and was identified by Governor M. Jodi Rell as Connecticut’s greenest school building.
James G. Rogers’ passion and personal commitment to architectural excellence may be hereditary. He descends from a long line of architectural talent. His grandfather, James Gamble Rogers, is renowned for his designs for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Columbia University, and, most notably, for much of the collegiate gothic architecture on the campus of Yale University.
Rogers’ passion extends to the rest of the JGRA team. Well versed in managing complex projects, JGRA professionals understand the importance of valuing client vision, concerns, and constraints. We are dedicated to building a spirit of consensus while creating a unique solution to a complex set of considerations. Having worked on numerous projects in the metropolitan region, we also bring a special understanding of the nuances of each community’s distinct culture to each of our designs.
